Given your time here, today will be especially interesting as Katy seemed excited to present another orphan recently introduced into the building.
Granted Katy is often always excited at the notion regardless.
You open the door, and something immediately rushes towards you, and jumps on your face. Blind, and gripped by what felt like soft furry paws, you are repeatedly bonked on the head by Styrofoam.
“Sorry Anon! She’s still a little too excitable-just hold still now!” Katy’s voice was hard
Your only response was a muffle yes, and a nod.
“That’s the spirit! Try to shake her off from your end while I pull her waist” Katy said.
A loud mewling sound was heard followed by a more rapid succession of bonks on the head before you were able to see again.
“Sorry about that Anon, we’ll cover that aspect of her soon enough!” Katy said attempting to soothe the wriggling kitten child in her arms.
You finally get a good look at her, arms, and legs only slightly larger than your typical humanoid, furred with black spots, and donuts, clearly felid in species though it was clear it wasn’t your typical house cat. It’s not often Katy struggles with a child, and resorts to using her stronger tail as a means to keep one still.
“Now then…she’s a little feisty, but once she grows on you, she’s rather adorable, and loyal! Did you know that big cats when properly trained, and raised with love, and care can be as dependable as dogs?” Katy said.
The child made more mewling noises to voice her complaints, clearly she had plans for you that Katy was not letting her do.
“Tell you what sweetie, I let you go, and if you stay a good girl you can have seconds at dinner time, and you will be free to interact with Anon here for the remainder of our study of you” Katy said.
She ceased to protest, almost pondering before her grin widen, and she nodded her head rapidly. Content with that, Katy released her.
It was clear however; that she was an abundance of energy as she refused to stay still, swaying side to side, legs crouching up, and down, eyes trained solely on you, like a cat stalking her predator. You glance at her blade, a familiar weapon you’ve had prior experience with…in a video game.
“So~ Were-cat-” you begin.
“I’m not a cat!” The child piped up.
“She’s not a cat” Katy said.
“…Right so~?” You clearly didn’t know the answer.
“Ocelomeh” Katy said.
“Ocelumin-Ocelelemo-what she said!” The tiny Ocelomeh squeaked.
“Oh~ so like an Oceloth kind of-” you begin.
“I’m a Jaguru-! Jagurah-I-I-*hic*-I’m a” you weren’t trying to be mean, but she started feeling genuinely hurt.
“Jaguar little one, and a little more effort on your part please Anon, I’m not paying you to make them cry” Katy said.
“Would help if you didn’t make them all a surprise” you reply.
“Touche, now then…it’s okay sweetie, the mean man will be gone soon, he knows what you are so don’t-” Katy began.
In her frustration she lunged at you once more. Though she lacked the element of surprise, and you were quick to catch her mid-air. A poor choice as she scrambled in your arms with great intensity until a smack on your nose from the back of her hair got you to loosen your grip. She slipped right out, and darted towards Katy’s back.
“Hm~ let’s…let’s just start shall we…Ocelomeh aren’t you average…” Katy paused to chose her words carefully. “Felis Catus, while others have a more docile, laxed, and rather uncaring disposition. Ocelomehs are the opposite, aggressively curious, highly energetic, and natural explorers. It is for that reason that those lacking in their physical prowess aren’t on the top of the list in terms of would be parents.
A tap of Katy’s tail pushes her back into the spotlight to which she was hesitant, and on high alert staring daggers at you.
“A lot of girls fit that picture now that I think about it…kind of makes me wonder how some people married to Ushi-Oni, and the like make stable families” you reply.
“Well there are all kinds of people, and mamono aren’t there? Our dispositions don’t sacrifice our individuality you know. Moving along, their diets are easy enough to maintain. They are carnivores with a preference for fish, chicken, pork, boar, snake-eh~ w-well only three of those are…*ahem*-necessary” Katy said.
“Food!? Food now!?” the little kitten cried out.
“Almost! We just need to go over a few more things” Katy assured.
“Are they always wild, or do they eventually calm down?” You ask.
“Funny thing about that! It is speculated that Ocelomeh have a completely different disposition than the usual, ‘look at me mate with my man in public’ theatrics. The same applies for the litter. Wild, and free on the outside world, and perhaps to strangers including their own adoptive parents on the first few days. After some time developing trust, they become rather docile only to whom they consider family. Raising them becomes steadily easier, but you should always keep a close eye on them when outside as they are boastful, and argumentative most of the time…at least it beast beating people with weapons” Katy said.
“Tell me about it” you reply as the Ocelomeh started prodding you with her sword.
“Oh right, they are just as curious as the…Felis Catus, so be prepare to follow them around, and be prepared for a lot of questions. Another trait a parent must have is patience, and understanding, these girls are curious even compared to the average child, so being able to keep up with their energetic minds is a must” Katy said.
“You smell strong! Not soft like others! Flowers, and pretty things-*ugh*-you smell different! I like!” She declared.
“Hm, you know…part of the agreement is that she could see a boy up close for the first time…sometimes rewarding her curiosity is an effective way of building trust fast. Just stay with her until she pops a question, and be ready for an answer” Katy said.
“And how is she with others in the family, siblings, and parents?” You ask.
“Like many children they pick their favorites, but there is never a dislike of anyone in the household. Naturally they favor the brothers, or the father, but can be oddly sweet, and kind to sisters, and doting on the mother. Again behind close doors they really aren’t that bad…however; outside they will lock their eyes on a member they like the most, and spent most of the day with them as if they were the chosen sacrifice. They are also wild cupids, often trying to pair people…and oddly enough objects to a god that must worshiped into their very genetic code. Children can often be seen acting as their mature selves in as young as 8 years old…granted that’s what happens when you give them more than one stuff animal” Katy said.
Sure enough the distractions Katy had brought seem to be calming her down, the little jaguar pressing the faces of the two dolls like they were made for each other…
“Were these counter measures thought up by you?” You ask.
“I wish, no-no there is a reason why they do this to inanimate objects, well it’s a theory, but so on the same level as gravity if that helps” Katy began.
“It does” You reply.
“Their mothers have at some point helped them understand via dolls…of course a strong, unstoppable, and relentless warrior knitting, or stitching tiny dolls for their babies wouldn’t be considered…well their disposition would shift dramatically if the truth were told…I think out of respect for the Ocelomeh, and for any mamono it’s better not to judge at face value” Katy said.
“I see…so how will they be treated in school? Will they be okay…you know, keeping up with the students?” You struggle to choose the right words.
“Hm~ good question…it’s mixed I’m afraid, it’s the old horse saying; you can lead it to water, but you can’t make it drink” Katy said.
“That’s…a shame” you reply.
“That’s not to say they are unintelligent, it’s just that they are picky about what they deem important enough to learn…math will be their greatest foe…as well as literature arts, and chemistry; however I found that they thrive in wood-shop, metal-shop, P.E, any classes involving language, Creative Arts of any kind, and yes that includes instruments.” Katy said.
“That’s still quite a lot of possibilities though, you’re a little smartie you know” you turn to the Ocelomeh.
“Smart-smart! I sma-I *am* smart!” She corrected herself.
“Fast learners, though there will be times their vocal chords won’t keep up with larger words so be attentive with that, and help her study. Remember, she’s not dumb; but you are her parent, help her study, and spend time with her” Katy said.
“Can do! So what is she like growing up? What am I going to watch out for?” You ask.
“*Sigh~* bold moves” Katy sighed.
“That’s not good” you reply.
“Without the experience” Katy added.
“Does not help” you also respond.
“Teenage years are going to be full of rejections, and pouting, and calls from the principal. That’s why it’s absolutely important that you be the father figure while she is still young. I’m being deadly serious Anon, imprint yourself as a good parent, and it would be a massive investment in her future. And considering her people’s loyalty, there is no doubt that all the blood, sweat, and tears will help you, and her in the long run.” Katy said.
“Gotcha, she’ll behave better over time, under strict parental guidance…no wonder you’re oddly specific about who should be raising her” you respond.
“Anon dear…” Katy began, but made sure the Ocelomeh was properly distracted as her sensitive ears can pick up a pin drop if focused on a general area.
“Only death will part a mother Ocelomeh from her cub, that goes for everyone here; with only minor exceptions” Katy whispered.
Right…Orphanage…monster girls in general are affectionate to an extreme degree at times.
“Of course…sorry for the daily reminder…” you murmur.
You glance back at the cub, her ears did not pick up what Katy said, but her eyes were peaked with curiosity staring at you, and her being so close. Perhaps wondering if a real life scenario was playing before her, and not from plush dolls.
“If I can squeeze in a bit of a fun fact to dissuade the-uh~ drama, they hate baths like any of their kind…but love swimming. It’s a conundrum to understand, but having a pool in your resume would help immensely, just a heads up” Katy said.
You can’t help, but wonder why? I guess the exercise is good, and it does mix things up. I mean how often are you on the water compared to land? How often is the average person in general?
“Well…*ahem* let’s conclude our discussion shall we?” Katy said.
“Right! So if I want her hired, where would be a good job she can apply?” You ask.
“Anything involving going outside is always a good choice. Construction is a possibility, but not a strong one, though if they were the foreman it would be a different story, but be prepared for her to spice up the blue prints with her own flare. Another thing they are fond of is building palaces in their native design. Even one who has never seen their native land can be inspired upon viewing pictures, or videos” Katy began.
“Is there anything outside of physical labor these girls can do?” You ask.
“Yes! Astronomers!” Katy declared.
“…Really?” You ask.
“Curiosity my dear, all of their kind share it! In fact most Were-cats, Nekomatas, and Cait-Siths become astronomers over time, very soothing, long nap times, and they are always awake late at night” Katy said.
“My god, it’s the perfect job” you realize.
“They can also be exceptional ranchers, if you can stop them from eating the cattle…actually scratch that, maybe they would be if they were trained at a young age” Katy added.
“Well can’t say someone won’t at least try, who knows, maybe it will be a good look on them” You shrug.
“I will certainly be happy if they pulled it off” Katy agreed.
“Other than that, military service, tour guides, explorers, archaeologists, or housewives” They have a bright future, but I must remind you that their ultimate fate is really up to them, and it is up to you to guide them, to ensure a safe, and clear path for them forward as their dad” Katy said.
“Of course Katy, thanks for the lesson again, feels like they were long overdue” you reply.
“Anytime Anon, now then-we’re done here little one! How about you-” Katy began.
The little Ocelomeh rushed forward towards you, eyes wide with questions.
“You-you! Feel alone!? Not married! Want to be sacrificed!? I can help! I’m getting good!” The Ocelomeh piped up.
“Uh no thanks-I” you begin.
*Sniff-Sniff*
“Grrr~ you smell like many girls now! Bad! Marry one! Pick one! You bad! Me hit you! Teach you lesson now!” The Ocelomeh starting bonking you once more.
“Again, not all of them share this trait, but it would help if both parties stay loyal, and one aspect about them is making sure it happens…in their own creative ways” Katy said.

Beautiful, just beautiful. I eagerly wait for more.
If I may throw a suggestion, maybe make it so that she uses words from her native language (if she has one) in sentences or answers? Because she doesn’t remember the words in english, or comes out as a reflex.
Not a bad idea there! Plus any reason to learn a new language should be reason enough! If we come back to her in the future I’ll hopefully gather enough knowledge to figure something out! Thanks for the advice.
I’d say he earned those last few bonks she gave him.
Hmm, wasn’t expecting a warm adoption scenario with the Ocelomeh.
It’s a unique approach to tackling Ocelomeh’s since it’d be rather difficult to write about them without them being labeled as “Sex Fiends.” It’s certainly easier to see how they behave and develop as children rather than adults. Plus this brings the possibility of taming their wilder side with proper discipline and care.
It was a short, but cute read, so I hope for the best for dear Anon here
