I have added the 10 top scored stories to the right sidebar (left sidebar is too narrow for that) and also a display of all votes within the past week, giving readers and authors alike the opportunity to track activity easier.

Nope, not strange at all. The weekly votes are there to show what has been voted on, not to show top scores.
