I had moved into MGC for three weeks now. Having settled into my new job, I figured it was time to find a good watering hole to wallow in. After trying a few places out in the town one night, I came to the door of a particularly subtle establishment tucked in around a small corner. A neon sign spelled out in big bright letters, “The Wilting Walraune”. A light chatter could be heard on the other side of the door, along with soft piano music.
Inside, a multitude of people filled the place. A young man chatting with his lamia companion, a group of catgirls laughing together at a large table, three dragon girls playing cards. In the corner, a scylla in a black gown was playing Miles Davis tunes with her many tentacles on the piano. The atmosphere was cozy, and the lights were somewhat dim. The smell of booze was in the air, but no one in particular seemed completely out of it. The place gave off none of the hole-in-the-wall vibe its outside implied.
However, there was one figure that stood out from the crowd. In fact, she was a head taller than everybody else. Sitting at the bar was a red oni, the only one in the place that seemed to be alone. An enormous kanabo leaning against the bar beside her would probably explain why. Carrying something like that would certainly scare off anyone trying to meet someone new, but there was something about her that I couldn’t stop admiring her about. She wore a simple purple skirt that was barely able to contain her large muscles and breasts. Her white hair stopped at her shoulders, and small hooped earrings hung from her ears. In front of her was a sake set with three empty bottles. A fourth was in her hand.
I must’ve looked like a fool just standing there and staring at her like that, so I made my way over and took a seat beside her, on the opposite side of her fearsome weapon. She raised an eyebrow at the sight of my arrival, but said nothing as I ordered a scotch. The holstaur barmaid gave me a smile as she handed my drink.
There I was, sitting next to a red oni. A being who could so easily pin me down with one arm and take a sip of sake with another. Someone so beautiful and voluptuous yet has the raw strength to bench press a train car. After a few moments of mentally preparing myself and making sure I knew what I was in for, I took a deep breath and cleared my throat before turning to face her and extending a meek hand.
“Hi there. My name is—“ I didn’t have any time to finish before a hand grabbed me by the back of my collar and yanked me out of my chair. The next thing I knew, I was being dragged out the door with one hand by the red oni, who was laughing drunkenly into the night.
