It was a curse and a blessing, a local saying. The Caged Noin was a place reserved for locals, a venue where fate coalesced in gambles of life and coin. There was a small line to the front doors: she took the place of a beastman who was kindly removed with a boot to the back.

Another day of work laid ahead for them in the daily tedium of their lives, and they moved in their set pattern that has long been ingrained in them. Engines started to rev up and cars pulled out into the street, and amongst the new hubbub of a new day was the clopping of a pair of hooves.
After End Affliction
And thus, after three hundred years of darkness, the succession of the Cosmos Order had defeated their mortal nemesis: the Lady in Shadow.
Or at least, that’s where it should have ended.
