Little Monster Miracle Orphanage (Day 21)

Being a father isn’t all about feeding and paying for school, it’s also being there for her when she needs it the most. To share memories with her that she can cherish, and learn from. Since you had the day off, and given the circumstances the two of you went through yesterday, you decide to spend some quality time with Chloe briefly before going out to do your own activities.

“B-but Daddy, do you think I’m ready?” Chloe sounded nervous.

“It’s okay to be nervous your first time Chloe, but we’re too close to stop now don’t you think? Don’t you trust me?” you asks.

“O-of course I trust you daddy! I-I just didn’t think it would happen so soon…I thought you didn’t want me doing this so early” Chloe began to brace herself.

“Knowing something like this is very important early on, and kids are learning at younger ages, it’s just the times we live in now. Plus you had to have known this was going to happen. I couldn’t just ignore it right after we got you to touch stuff” you explained.

“O-okay…” Chloe murmurs as she takes a deep breath “O-okay I’m ready…b-but don’t let go of me okay. I-I want you to be close to me when we do it” Chloe said.

“I’ll be right here, I promise you’re not going to get hurt…well how could you anyways” you assured.

“Daddy~” Chloe looked up to her father. “I-I love you” Chloe whispered as she was ready to take the plunge.

You can’t help, but chuckle at her meek demeanor. “You’re overacting, but I love you too. Okay, here we go” you reply as you get ready to push.

Chloe grips the handle bars tightly as she stares directly forward, her ghostly tail replaced with her former legs, pedaling at a steady pace despite being so nervous. You grab hold of her seat and handle to keep her upright as she ride her bicycle for the first time without her training wheels. Being sickly for so long she was unable to even ride a tricycle, and wasted her childhood without even learning to ride a bike. You taught her the best you could, but she was rather embarrassed that despite being so old she still relied on training wheels until today…

“Don’t let go!” Chloe cried out.

“(Why is she so concerned? Did she forget she’s a ghost? Guess kids will be kids)” you think to yourself and it’s better to play it safe, maybe you should have waited until she is able to materialize a helmet to wear?

Still keeping up with her you tentatively test her technique by secretly letting go seeing as her concentration is currently set on straight ahead. As it turns out she’s doing just fine, just like you did back when you were a kid. As sneakily as you could; you slip your fingers away, and let her ride for herself.

“D-Daddy!? H-hey I thought you said-” Chloe began to panic.

“Relax! You’re doing just fine!” You call out to her.

Chloe was silent as she stared at her pedaling feet, her handle bars, and stared directly forward once more.

“…I’m doing it…I’m doing it!” Chloe cried out.

“See! Told you can do it!” You felt so proud of her.

“I’m doing it! I’m doing-whoa!” Chloe cried out, her celebration cut short as her bike crashed onto a mailbox.

“(…Hm, well that wasn’t something that happened to me when I was her age…I hit a fire hydrant)” you recall as you jogged towards Chloe.

Your mother was quite emotional about it too, she had doted over you long after your injuries had healed, and had to paid a fine for destruction of public property…

“I’m okay!” Chloe popped out of the mailbox she just fazed through.

“Yup, looks like your bike is fine too, feel like doing another run? Maybe you’ll get the hang of steering, or how to use the brakes” you joke.

“Haha! Very funny!” Was Chloe’s sassy response before giggling shortly after.

You played, and taught her for another couple of hours, and Chloe got the hang of things fairly quickly as she was already riding literal circles around you on her bicycle. After some time; you realize you haven’t taken the time to exercise yourself, thus the two of you are off to visit the gym once more.

The trip ended as quickly as quickly as it began as Chloe was twiddling the minutes away chatting about her experiences, and complications as if you never rode a bike yourself. Suffice to say, hearing her talk about her accomplishments gave you a sense that she really was quick to get back on her feet despite prior disappointment.

Upon reaching the gym and donning more fitting clothing you search around the area, and find Patty thumbing through her unopened water bottle. Chloe having spent most of her energy just trying to grip, and pedal the bike decided to rest her weary head as you walk over towards Patty.

“Hey~ Patty, there you are!” you call out to her.

Patty nearly jumps in shock, her bottle slipping off her fingers as she struggled to grasp it mid-air, luckily doing so. She turns to you before breathing a sigh of relief. The Orc looks positively thrilled to see you, and practically skips towards you. You notice she’s wearing more attire than usual, sweat-shorts, long sleeve sweat shirt, and even knee pads on thick socks, and sneakers.

“Anon! I’m glad you came, I was just-…w-well you’re here now so it doesn’t matter” Patty said.

“You sure it doesn’t matter?” You curiously asked.

“No-it’s nothing really, just thinking out loud-anyways! What are we going to work on today?” Patty asks.

She seems a tad jumpier than usual, you try to think of a new way to get her to relax, and exercise at the same time.

“Well I was thinking we’d try something new, we’ll take a quick jog, and we’re going to have a bit of time off by meditating to help us relax. What do you say?” You try to convince her.

“Well okay, but I’ve never meditated before, I just don’t want to mess it up” Patty sounds concerned.

“Relax, it’s going to be fine, I’m long overdue to meditate myself so we can help each other out this time. Frankly having someone new to it as me would make me feel comfortable doing it more often” You said.

“R-really…I-I never thought I’d be any use to you…actually I think I owe you too much…you made me so happy, and comfortable with my…everything…I’m sorry-*sniff*-I-I didn’t mean to be so dramatic” Patty whimpered.

“Patty-I…no I’m the one who’s sorry, I wasn’t trying to upset you, or get dramatic like that…hey if you want to do this another time-” You begin.

“No! I-I want to do this with you…especially because it you…please Anon! I-I want to keep working out with you!” Patty begged.

You get a heavy feeling in your heart, so much thrust into your conscious so fast, and you don’t know where to start. Still, those baby soft eyes, watery, wide, and pleading don’t lie.

“Okay-okay! Come on…let’s go workout buddy” you smile.

Patty nods her head, and follows you back outside.

You’re not certain why she clung to your arm, but she was soft, and warm so you weren’t entirely complaining.

Reaching the track field, the two of you agreed to take the easy route again, another light jog to get back to a positive mood, and rest via meditation. You take the scenic jog through the track at the back of the gym, jogging with Patty close to your side. You attempt to distract yourself from Patty’s jiggling bosom and take in the sights of the forest.

The large trees, full of leaves acting as a perfect shade from the hot sun, in fact the whole field was gardened to near perfection as a lot of time and effort was put into this whole place. You glance at several trees and notice that some of the Maple trees are already beginning to show signs of Autumn approaching as they were peppered with orange and yellow leaves, the white branches of the Birch trees mark the path acting as a natural fence alongside the Maple, and Fir trees you, and Patty jog through.

“This place is really beautiful don’t you think?” You ask in between your jog.

“It is! So peaceful and calm, you can almost forget about all your troubles in a place like this” Patty agrees.

You nod in agreement and finish off the short jog, this time Patty wasn’t nearly out of breath as before.

“Good job Patty, you didn’t just keep up with me, but you look like you’re ready to go again” you compliment.

“T-thanks Anon, I’ve been doing a little practicing myself, but I feel like I can improve much better if you’re with me” Patty smiles at your compliment.

“I’m happy to hear that, alright, let’s move on to something different shall we?” You encourage her further.

Patty nods her a sparkle of pride, and self satisfaction etched across the tiny smile on her face.

Looking around you find a nice nearly secluded spot via a detour in the road, the map marks several of these areas for anyone to use so as not to interrupt jogger, or other hikers as they continue forward while you rest.

For this particular case, it was for you, and Patty to practice meditating.

It near secluded because while you chose to practice in that area, it is also a common spot where others go to practice yoga; thus you’ll have to do your best to not let the small group’s stretches, and exercise distract you as their tight fitting pants and tops are nothing more than a thin second layer of skin at this point for some of the mamono stretching there.

“I’ve never been here before, it looks so pretty” Patty comments.

You had to admit whoever did all the landscaping must have been very devoted and talented. The forest clearing was nearly round and resembling a small grove with a man-made waterfall found in a tall rock formation in the far corner, but upon closer inspection you notice that through the thin veil of water was a near underground grotto built out of a cave that was already there to begin with. The waterfall itself combine with the soft brushing of leaves and wild-life made the whole place serene and peaceful with pleasant ambience.

Waving, and greeting the several mamono, and human individuals making up the small class you take Patty near the waterfall, and promptly ask her to take a seat on a large smooth rock. She nods and plops her tush on the smooth stone, but you notice her face winces as she struggled to seat herself comfortably despite you seeing nothing out of the ordinary about the rock surface.

“…Are you okay?” You ask her.

“M-me!? Of course! Never better!” She practically cries out causing a few of the yoga group to turn their heads towards you.

“I’m gonna be honest, I haven’t done this in a while myself. I mean I did it for a bit, but when you’re on the football team there really isn’t a meditation part of our training. I just got all this from a friend a while back. He’s uh…been doing great so I imagine this is good for you” you explain recalling a familiar buddy who you recently met at that mamono strip club.

“That’s okay I’m sure you’ll do great” Patty boosts your confidence.

“Okay, so it’s always hard at first to just empty your mind for hours at a time so…we’ll do maybe an hour…half at best. We just focus on our breathing, concentrate on just keeping your breathe steady and calm, and nothing else” you explain.

“…O-okay, I think I can do that much” Patty agrees.

The first two minutes or so were rather awkward, it seems in an effort to not let you down Patty went a little overboard with the breathing, taking in large gulps of air. Her large chest heaving in and out distracting you even more so as you took a peak wondering why she was so strongly breathing. After a quiet whisper of explanation Patty blushes, and nods silently and attempts to try again. This time she did a lot better, but you get the feeling she’s not entirely concentrating, you peek at her and see her squirm, her face constantly twitching as if whatever is bugging her won’t stop.

“Hey, Patty? I’m gonna take a closer look at your…form, just keep trying your best okay?” You ask her.

“O-oh! Okay, you’re the expert” Patty agreed.

You stand up and get a closer look at her, this whole day, and even since the day you met her there was something off about her. She’s so timid and submissive, but clearly isn’t seeing anyone, and you wonder what could have happened to her until you remember what she said to you when the two of you first met. How she’s been defeated by everyone, yet she never specified ‘everyone’, and before you can piece together what that meant another more shocking discovery is found.

She was much more covered up than usual despite the heat, and as your hands graze her shoulders, and arms, you notice every once in a while; Patty would wince rather heavily. These weren’t the shy squeaks, and flinches of being poked at, she reacted as if certain parts of her body such as; her back, shoulder-blades, her thigh, calve, even her forearm had similar reactions. Her hands were undamaged, but one of her sleeves was pulled slightly up, giving you a tiny peek at her wrist, to your dismay you notice a tiny section of what seemed to be cuts, but you were starting to get a few long stares from the yoga practitioners so you decide to halt your investigation, and resume meditating.

“Y-you’re doing fine, no…issues so far” You remark on her meditation.

“Glad to hear it Anon, thank you!” Patty sounded relieved.

You decide to keep this to yourself; at least until you finish meditating of course as you intend to discuss this with her before you leave. The rest of your meditation period was uneventful, but as Patty seemed rather relaxed in her own state of mind, you were far from comfortable as the implications started hammering your mind, each one growing worse, and worse.

Sure enough a little after half, and hour you couldn’t bring yourself to stand still, and do nothing.

“I-I think we’re done here” you sigh.

“I-I’m sorry Anon, I tried, I really did, but I guess I’m too scatterbrained to focus” Patty sounded defeated.

“No-no! You looked like you were doing great…I just…” You begin noticing that the area was finally clear of people, and privacy had returned to them.

“B-but what? What is it Anon?” Patty asked.

“…Patty…you…are you hurt? I…I wasn’t trying to peek, or pry…but you were reacting rather strongly as if you got a bruise, or two…and well your wrist looked rather…off” You couldn’t quite lay it to her gently.

At this Patty flinches, and turns away at you, you see her yank her sleeves till they were covering half her palms.

“I-I’m just a klutz, that’s all! Really there’s nothing more to it” she murmurs, though you’re not convinced.

“Patty, if you’re being…mistreated or hurt by someone…you’d tell me right? I’m your friend remember?” You try again.

“Anon…you’re too good to me, I don’t deserve it, but really I’m fine, I’ll be healed in no time! We Orcs tend to recover a lot faster than you think-ehehe~” Patty assured you, even trying to laugh it off.

You didn’t buy her claim for a moment, but you also don’t want to press her even more, she looks visibly shaken enough as it is. You’ll just have to investigate yourself on your next visit.

“Okay Patty, I understand, we’ll try one more time, only this time I want you to focus on something else. Here take my hands” you extend your arms towards her.

“W-what do you want me to do?” Patty asks.

“I just want you to hold my hands, and I want you to just try and focus on how my skin feels against yours. Maybe…this will help us both focus more intently on meditating. Easy enough right?” You suggest.

“…O-okay I’ll do it” Patty agrees.

She holds yours hands and closes her eyes. You take this moment to softly caress the back of her hands with your thumbs and grip her hands more firmly. Patty sighs to your touch and her breathing stays consistent.

This time her concentration is more consistent and in roughly five minutes you felt she may have gotten the hang of meditating…

Either that or she fell asleep. At the very least having the comfort of another person she seems to like is helping her stay concentrated, and at ease much faster.

You finish you training with Patty on that note in which she thanks you profusely saying this was the most relaxed she felt in a long time. This of course only concerned you further but you have other pressing matters at hand. As you leave the gym, and the two of you part ways; you make a promise to regroup with her again as soon as possible.

Despite the somewhat lack of training you did feel a little stronger at least so nothing was wasted today.

Thinking back on what your mother said you decide to return to the orphanage on your way back from the gym to talk to Katy. You figured it’d be best to do it on your day off compared to your regular working hours as you can simply ask Katy to talk to them directly rather than hope one of them crosses your path during your patrolling or whatever other tasks are given to you.

You reach the orphanage with Chloe now awake from her mid afternoon nap in your little soul pocket, and make an immediate turn to Katy’s office near the entrance of the building.

You knock on the door and let her know you are here.

“Katy? It’s me Anon, can I talk to you for a bit?” You call out.

There was a moment of silence before the door was slightly open with Katy peeking at you with a leer in her eye.

“What do you want?” Katy murmured.

“I-uh~ was just wondering about some of the children, the uh, Vampires and Dhampirs to be precise.

“Sorry, no boys allowed in my office at the moment, especially if they are employed here” Katy declared.

“Ah come on Katy, what are you four? Is this about the fountain?” You ask her.

Katy gives a loud huff, and closes the door again, at this moment Chloe tugs at your shirt to gain your attention.

“Why don’t you try sweet-talking her?” Chloe advises.

“…Katy? I’m really sorry about the whole fountain thing which I’m assuming this is all about-” you begin.

Another loud huff was heard.

“But if it makes you feel any better I think you’re…really pretty!” you call out to her.

Another moment of silence before the door creaks open and Katy peeks out once more.

“You really think so?” Katy asks.

“Yeah, and you’re so…” you reply and you tap at Chloe still in your head for some more words of wisdom.

“Tell her she’s young” Chloe advises.

“You’re so young, and full of youth, I can’t believe you’re as old as everyone else says you are” you reply.

“Really!? You think I’m young?” Katy now opens the door wider.

“Of course, you don’t look a day older than eighteen in fact sometimes you’re so young I might mistake you as one of the children in the orphanage” you add.

“And-and do you think I’m just as special as Betsy?” Katy wants you to go on.

Okay now she’s just pushing it, though you put on your best poker face and answer her.

“…Sure?” Was your best response.

“Okay-okay sorry about all that, all joking aside you’re really here to talk to one of my little ones?” Katy was joking the entire time.

You breathe a sigh of relief, and smile back.

“Yeah, I was just really curious, and I thought I’d chat with one today” you reply.

“I also hope you’re thinking of raising one as your own today, now that I got a good look at your home, it looks big enough to fit at least four more children” Katy said.

“That is a possibility, so can I see them?” You ask.

“Of course, though I will tell you the Vampires are still napping, and it’s best not to disturb them” Katy warned.

“I can understand that much, so let’s see one of the Dhampirs” you suggest.

“Right this way, I recall one of them patrolling the cafeteria let’s see if she’s still there” Katy said.

You and Katy take a stroll through the hallway passing by several of the young children who give you a wave, and quick greetings.

The kids are starting to get use to having you around which makes you feel all the more better about your job.

You enter the cafeteria to see it semi-full with kids eating their dinner, and Betsy hard at work attending to the kitchen with her staff of cooks.

“Now if I remember correctly I did see her here for the briefest of moments, but it’s possible she may have finished her meal and went off to play” Katy said.

She looks around the room and spots something that catches her eye.

“Change of plans Anon, we’re going to follow that girl for a second, she’ll be our temporary bait” Katy said pointing to a girl leaving the cafeteria and heading towards the backyard.
Part of the Harpy family no doubt, but she wasn’t labeled in several encyclopedias, a sort of fresh new face, if that was always scowling. Hair, and feathers of silvery white with a polished gray down, black feathery tail, and talons. Her skin was a dark tone with glistening, sharp red eyes wearing a simple white blouse, and denim shorts.

“Hey~ isn’t that a-wait let me remember this, we just talked about her too…an Impundulu right?” You guess.

“Correct, put it simply a half Vampire, half Harpy hybrid. She’ll draw out our Dhampir all the same as the one we’re looking for struggles to obey the rules at times” Katy said.

“What rules?” You ask.

“You’ll find out soon enough, anyways let’s follow her outside” Katy urged.

You and Katy follow the white feathered girl outside to the playground. She looks around for a bit possibly wondering on what to do next when you spot someone jumping at her to the Impundulu’s left side.

“Blood sucker~!” A girl shouts her battle cry and tackles the Harpy Vampire.

The two roll around for a bit but the little blonde girl makes it out on top.

“Get off me! Now!” The Impundulu girl cries out.

“Yes! I did it! Woohoo~” the Dhampir cheered.

“Seriously! Do we have to do this every Tuesday!?” The Impundulu exclaimed.

“Yes seriously, we’ve talked about this” Katy spoke out.

The Dhampir looks up and quickly loses her cool, and moves aside freeing the Impundulu who quickly stands, brushes her wings clean of dirt, and walks away grumbling to herself.

“Wow, she really looks a lot like my sister in a way” you realize.

The girl while older than your sister was still rather young, with long hair done in a thick ponytail tied with a red ribbon.

She wore a bright red shirt with bramble patterns, black shorts, and lace boots with long socks patterned with bats. Her eyes

“Little one, Anon here wishes to talk to you” Katy began.

“U-um, I’m sorry for attacking blood suck-I-I mean Vampires for no reason…again” the girl apologized.

“No, that’s not it, but you should really stop that. Right now I just want to know your name” you ask her.

“Oh! My name’s Ceres! Ceres…uh~something um~” Cerez tried to word it out.

“Mariemaia” Katy corrected.

“Kind of a mouthful” you comment.

“Well what kind of person puts just a letter in their middle name. That contract needed your full middle name, not your initials” Katy said.

“…Okay you have me there…It’s Eugene okay, Anon Eugene Mous” you explain.

“I’ll just uh~ stick to Anon E. Mous thanks…” Katy said.

She quickly turned away and pulled out her cellphone and began quickly texting something.

“[Anon’s middle name is Eugene, tell everyone]” Katy texted to Fubuki before quickly turning back to see you and the Dhampir staring at her.

“What? J-just had something in my eye for a sec” Katy said.

“Okay! So my name’s Ceres Marie~maia Helsing!” The Dhampir proclaimed.

“Helsing? Huh, I wonder if they’ll take an interest to that…” you mutter.

“Huh? Did you say something mister?” Ceres asked.

“No, never mind. So anyways I was wondering about how you came to be here, if you don’t mind me asking…I was curious about Vampire lineages, and it might help me out if you told me…again, if it’s alright with you” Anon asked.

At this Ceres grew a frown as she tried to word out her explanation.

“We-we uh, we came on a ship-b-but then this freak storm came out of nowhere, and our boat sank…they found me at a beach somewhere b-but my mom and dad…t-they couldn’t find them…” Ceres murmured.

“They’ve been missing for over three years now…it’s possible they…didn’t make it” Katy replied.

“Where was the beach specifically?” You asked.

“We have her records on hand if you’re curious about the specifics” Katy assured.

“Hm…I try not to think about it too much…I…don’t like to anyways…I like to try, and help out here since everyone is so nice to me, except the Vampires, they’re always jerks to me so I don’t care about them too much!” Ceres pouted.

The poor kid, this might explain why she attacks random Vampires like this. She lost her paternal guides to the world and is acting on instinct alone. What she really needs now is direction…

“Hey, Ceres you know, I have a lot of Vampires in my family” you begin.

“Then you’re my enemy!” Ceres cried out.

“B-but I also have a little sister who’s a lot like you too, and not just because she’s a Dhampir” you quickly add.

“…S-so you’re my ally?” Ceres sounded confused.

“Well in retrospect I could be considered one of the good guys” you explain.

“Cool!” Ceres was pleased with that.

“…Hm~” you hum to yourself.

“Penny for your thoughts?” Katy asked.

“I was just thinking…well, can I try raising her?” You suddenly asked.

Ceres suddenly jumps and looks up towards you.

“Well I don’t see why not, what do you think Ceres?” Katy asked.

“Does this mean I can join the tournament?” Ceres asked.

“Tournament? What tournament?” You ask.

“A little fencing tournament Ceres heard about, but due to her circumstances she couldn’t enter, needed a parent or guardian and a reliable driver to take her to each of her rounds, plus the entrance fee. Things we can’t quite provide here, but you might have a better chance” Katy explained.

“Well sure, if I adopt you I can enter you in the tournament, it’ll be good to have goals, and this could be perfect for you. I can even teach you” talk about convenient solution.

“You can fight?” Ceres asked.

“Well sort of, I practiced a lot with my little sister, and my mother recommended it for me when I was a teen so I have experience” you assure her.

“Teach me, teach me! We have someone who teaches us how to fight, but she’s not always around” Ceres sounded very excited.

“My sister is a very busy girl, but very crucial away from us as she is with us” Katy explained.

“Alright, alright so you seem set on sticking with me, Chloe what do you think about her?” You ask.

“Oh~ she has potential” Chloe spoke out as she fazed out of your body.

“Ghost!” Ceres cried out.

“I didn’t mean it like that Chloe” you reply.

“I know, if she’s anything like your sister I like her already, plus she looks really cool!” Chloe declared.

“E-eh? Cool!? You really think I’m cool!?” Ceres began blushing.

“So it appears as if we have a deal then?” Katy said.

“Sure, go get all your stuff Ceres, and meet us at Katy’s office” you ask her.

“Yes sir!” Ceres saluted and dashed off.

“Wait! I wanna come with!” Chloe exclaimed quickly following her.

“You’re doing a good thing Anon, of course remember I can only allow you to keep three more after this…maybe I can recommend you a nice little Lamia, or something?” Katy asked.

“I’ll…I’ll take it into consideration” you tell her.

You write up the adoption papers and finish just in time to see Ceres with her small luggage of things. You make a note that unlike Chloe, Ceres will definitely need new clothes that you’ll have to buy for her, not to mention a bed, though luckily the two seem to hit it off, and have agreed to share a bed for tonight. Tomorrow morning will be spent purchasing furniture to help decorate Ceres’ room next to Chloe.

You are happy to see Chloe and Ceres hitting it off really quickly, Chloe is even delighted to know that despite looking younger she is technically the oldest in terms of adoption…days, and has declared herself as of this moment the ‘big sister’. Ceres doesn’t seem to mind it, and just takes it as a long term game of hers, one of many you assume the two will play. The two sitting in the back seat of the car as you exit the forest, and head towards your home.

“Hey! So what kind of music do you listen to?!” Chloe exclaimed.

“Eh?! Oh…y-you know rock, and roll, and…stuff” Ceres was reluctant.

“Aw come on-you can tell me! I’ll even sing a long with you to make you feel better!” Chloe assured.

“M-maybe later” Ceres was a tad bashful.

“No rush Ceres, hopefully tomorrow morning we can open up together, and get to know each other a little bit more” You assure.

You pull up into the driveway, the three of you exiting the vehicle as you reach for the front door.

“You’ll love this place! There’s a lot of super spooky, and awesome family you haven’t seen yet!” Chloe said.

“Spooky? Goodness I think glamorous fits our description better” A woman spoke as your front door opened.

“L-Lisa!? W-what-why are you here!?” You cry out.

“Hi~ Auntie Lisa!” Chloe cried out.

“Hello~ sweetie!” Lisa greeted.

“Blood sucker~!” Ceres shouted as she dashed and jumped at Lisa.

“Now-now this won’t do at all” Lisa grinned.

With a whoosh of her hands she summoned a cape, and used it as a shield using a bit Vampire power she turned her cape into a proper armored wall. It even sounded like one as a noticeable *clank* noise rang when Ceres crashed into it. She groaned in pain as she slowly slid down and collapsed on the floor as you quickly rush to her aid.

“That was a bit much don’t you think?” You reply as you see Ceres had a bump on her forehead and was in a bit of a daze.

“Aw~ relax little brother, she’ll be back on her feet in no time, but my oh my she is something isn’t she? Do you want to explain yourself Anon?” Lisa asked.

“She’s…she’s Ceres and I just adopted her” you reveal.

“Oh dear, that is interesting news to me…if it was actually news” Lisa said.

“You knew about all of this?” You cry out.

“Of course, being the oldest sibling of the family, our mother entrusted me to watch over you in her stead, and I did so…and by that I mean I had my servant Kunoichi spy on you, and report back to me. I had already knew of your adoption before you even put the key in your ignition” Lisa revealed.

Her servant was fast, crazy fast, and very efficient at her work, it was no wonder you or even Katy couldn’t detected her presence, but a powerful woman like your sister needed powerful allies, you’re only relief in all of this was that at least she was on your side, but still…

“Well can you leave her out of my life, I rather have my privacy thank you very much” you reply.

“Oh Anon, one of these days, you’re bound to be assaulted by someone stronger, and hornier than you, and when you do, you would be thankful you had my servant spying on you in that moment” Lisa said.

“I can take care of myself thanks” Anon replied.

“Ah well, suit yourself, I’ll call her off your tail for now, but don’t get yourself into any trouble. I’ll still be watching you…in my own ways” Lisa said.

“…Fine, so would you like to come inside or something-wait a second…how long have you been spying on me?” You ask.

“A little after we left, in fact right away. By the time you two fell asleep I had already asked my servant to begin my task of babysitting you” Lisa said.

“Where is she now?” You start to panic.

“Yotaka? She should be relaying everything she’s collected about you to our mother right about now” Lisa said.

“You have to call her back! Or else we’ve doomed a bunch of innocent people!” Anon was panicking.

“…I’m confused here” Lisa confessed.

“If she was spying on me, a-and if she saw what that school did to Chloe-” you start.

“Ugh! Repulsive, I don’t blame the school, just the people running it…running it to the ground I imagine” Lisa knows of the incident.

“If we don’t stop her right now, all that will be left of that school will be the ground it once stood on! People can get hurt!” You explain to her.

At this Lisa’s eyes widen upon the realization and she quickly shuffles into one of her coat pockets for her smart-phone.

“Oh dear-oh dear! Let’s just hope Yotaka is feeling sluggish today” Lisa said as she began calling her servant.

You can hear the soft clicks of Lisa’s heel shoe as she taps impatiently at the floor waiting for her servant to pick up until at long last…

“Yotaka! It’s me Lisa, I’m with Anon and I-…o-okay. Yotaka says hello to you” Lisa tells you.

“Nice to hear from her, now get on with it!” you urge.

“Right! Listen Yotaka whatever you do, don’t tell mother about our recent findings, do you-…I-Is that mother in the background? Oh dear-Oh~ mercy me this could actually make a dent in our bank account” Lisa said.

“Why-what do you mean!? Please tell me we aren’t too late” You ask.

“Yotaka put your phone into speaker mode…Anon you better listen to this…” Lisa said.

“[HOW DARE THEY DO THAT TO MY OWN GRANDCHILD! I WILL OBLITERATE THEIR SCHOOL AND PUBLICLY HUMILIATE THEIR PRINCIPAL SO SHAMEFULLY THAT EVEN THE DARK ELVES WOULD FIND IT TO BE TOO MUCH!]” Elizabeth’s mad cry shrieked loudly even through the soft volume of the phone.

Lisa turned off speaker mode, but you can still hear your mother’s booming voice through her phone.

“Okay Yotaka, new plan! Keep mother busy, and in the house while I return with Veronica. Together, and with father’s help we might be able to persuade our mother to do less…illegal acts this time. Anon I’m afraid we’ll have to cut this visit short-oh! And Yotaka says good-bye” Lisa said.

“Please hurry, I don’t want to wake up tomorrow, and find the breaking news of the day being the destruction of a school” you plead.

“We will do our best, and we haven’t forgotten about our new member of the family. We’ll have to have a chat with her ourselves once we’re more controlled and she’s less unconscious” Lisa said.

“Does that mean no more spying?” You ask.

“No more spying, but you still have to keep us updated on your activities from time to time, see you in a moment’s notice” Lisa said.

“Bye Auntie Lisa! Please help Grandma!” Chloe waved good-bye.

“I will certainly do my best, take care Chloe” Lisa said.

And with that she vanished with a twist of her cape, a spiral of black tendrils, and a swarm of bats that rapidly flew away towards their destination.

“You’ll learn very quickly that the angrier my mother-your grandmother gets, the more she loves us” you explain.

“She’s kinda weird, but in a good way” Chloe said.

“Yes she is…” you respond.

Ceres finally snaps out of her daze and rapidly looks around.

“W-where’s the Vampire?” Ceres asked.

“She uh…left while you were still dizzy” you explain.

“Oh~ I’m never going to be good at this if they keep escaping from me” Ceres replied.

“Just…just hang in there Ceres” you pat her on the shoulder.

Tomorrow is another day.
