“Oh? It’s rare to see you topside like this. I hope this is good news” Katy began seeing one of her star employees enter her office.
“Katy…I-I had heard rumors that you have hired a b-b-boy here?” The Oomukade asked.
“Hm? Oh! You’re talking about our Anon. Yes he is the new employee, in fact he’s going to be showing up any moment now. If you want to you can stay and say hello. I’m sure he’d love to meet-” Katy began.
“He’s coming here! Now!? B-b-but I-I’m not ready! I-I don’t even have a topic of conversation! I-I’m sorry! I-I have to go!” She quickly began to panic.
“Please you need to calm down, I bet you two could actually click if you just-and you’re already running away…” Katy said watching her employee run away.

“Well Katy, when you’re right, you’re right” the Yuki-Onna Co-founder Fubuki proclaimed.
“I know right!? I suppose you also heard of his success with one of our spectral children, it was one thing to have him return her to us so quickly, it was another to return her in much brighter spirits than I had expected” the Echidna, and Founder Katy declared with a large grin.
“Yes, yes, well I suppose we can keep him, he’s very gentle despite a forced circumstance” Fubuki giggled an inside joke to herself.
“What’s that suppose to mean? I certainly hope you weren’t bullying him already, I kind of want to keep him you know!” Katy scolded her partner.
“Oh~ I was just testing him is all, nothing ecchi I promise…well nothing to report in public at least” Fubuki hinted.
“I sure hope you keep your antics to a minimum this year Fubuki” Katy sighed.
“No promises~” Fubuki replied while sticking her tongue out at Katy.

“Katy…I was wondering about one of our newer children we’ve taken in…” a very important Yuki-Onna wondered.
“And here I thought you were still hibernating from the warm weather…yes, I am very concerned myself, but I’m surprise to see you take notice too” Katy said.
“Well our newest spirit seems awfully distant from the rest of the children…my Yuki-Warashi can’t seem to get through to her too” the Yuki-Onna said.
“It’s to be expected, she was raised in a…certain way…perhaps our newest employee can-” Katy began before shutting herself up.
“Newest what now? Did I hear that correctly? You hired someone under my radar…*tsk-tsk* Katy, as Co-founder of our little Orphanage, I should have been made aware of this newcomer’s presence” the Yuki-Onna answered sternly, though the smile she wore spoke of a completely different attitude.
“Well you have a…colorful history you know…one that I would rather not have our new employee get involved…not until he’s ready. Don’t want to scare him off-” Katy added before she realized she’s revealed too much.
“He!? Male!? Well-well-well…now I’m curious…but not curious enough to deal with the heat…I’ll drop by soon though…very soon~” the Yuki-Onna giggled to herself before vanishing in a flurry of snow and wind.
“…Oh dear…I sure hope Anon can forgive me…” Katy murmured under her breath.

Finally taking a break from doing paperwork, the Echidna and founder of the Orphanage Katy herself graces her halls greeting and exploring her building. She meets with her head chef; a Holstaurus cowgirl by the name of Betsy.
“Betsy! How are you today!? I was just about to ask you about your opinions on our new staff member” Katy asked.
“Oh! Yeah he was a real treat to the eyes if I do say so myself-b-but he’s also really nice, I can just tell from his eyes, they were strong, sharp, but gentle…and compassionate. Just like my papa-I-I mean my father!” Betsy replied.
“Yes, I saw a lot of spirit in his eyes too, it appears as if he’s starting to grow accustom to our ways here, but he has a lot more to discover” Katy hinted.
“Sure as apple pie he does! I wonder how he’ll react to it all? I hope we don’t scare him off, or nothing…I already got a few of my tykes wondering when he’ll come see them” Betsy replied.

“So~ Nirvana, how’s our new employee I hired? What do you think of him?” The Echidna Katy asked her fashionista.
“Hm~ a bit of a stiff if you ask me, not the best fashion sense, but he’s harmless enough for the kids…I think he thinks I’m genuinely interested in him after our first time together” the Arachne Nirvana replied.
“Were you teasing our staff again, you know you can’t blame him for taking it the wrong way. I know how you like to toy with others” Katy scolded.
“Fair enough, I’ll give him a week to cut loose, and learn to have some fun, but if you ask me, I think you’re real concern is what our co-founder will do to him when she finds out…you haven’t told her yet have you?” Nirvana asked.
“Are you crazy? You know how she gets during the warmer seasons, we’ve been lucky she’s been relatively quiet and seclusive this past month, plus I don’t want her scaring away our new employee with her…’pranks’…” Katy put a strange emphasis on the work ‘prank’
“In any case, some of the kids who said hello to him want to meet with him again, seems like they all have something to say” Nirvana replied.
“I gave him another early morning shift with our kitchen manager, so long as they don’t mind waking up a little earlier than usual, we can arrange something, I just hope he’ll listen…” Katy said.

Children are a wondrous, splendid, more or less annoying things, but most importantly they are our future. Yet while we focus on what their future will bring for us, we sometimes fail to think of what their future will hold for them.
We take our parents for granted at times, yes they’re not the best teachers, or even caretakers, and neither will we once we become parents ourselves, but they stayed besides us all the way until it was time to leave the nest.
Some children aren’t so lucky…
No father to guide them, no mother to nurture them, not even a sibling to support them; these ‘little ones’ are alive in the world with no goal or purpose, and with a deep pain of neglect stinging their hearts. But inside their little bodies is a light of hope that one day they will find a loving family that will take them in, and unleash the potential bottled up inside.
This is where the ‘Little Monster Miracle Orphanage’ comes into play…
