When last we left our heroes, Silas had overcome them all. With grit and tenacity, the elderly elf had taken both the Sands of Plenty and the Chalice of Eternity to the mysterious island nation of Olgrad. However, to secure victory, Silas had left Bernice behind.

How are our heroes dealing with their defeat? Did they even really lose?

Bernice has the Chalice of Eternity, David is conquered by the Ice Queen, and his friends trapped in the bowels of her icy dungeon. Meanwhile, Silas has escaped with the Sands of Plenty.

When last we left our heroes, Silas had beaten David and Delilah to the top of the pyramid; ready to fight Zipporah the Pharaoh, Ophelia the bicorn, Nona the gnome, and Arsa the mindflayer for the Sands of Plenty.

Meanwhile, David’s other half, created from the Potion of Shadows, has been captured by the Ice Queen. And Bernice is the last one free to find the Chalice of Eternity.

David, currently able to be in two places at once thanks to the Potion of Shadows, has just consummated his relationship with Ophelia and Delilah, and sold his soul for love. Marriage, in other words. But he’s unsure about the idea of polygamy, and needs further persuading by his new bicorn wife.

Meanwhile, David is also attempting to help the other Monster Army team retrieve the Chalice of Eternity before his former ally and friend Bernice takes it instead. But Aurora, the Queen of Winter is close, and her body still aches from Annabelle’s lead arrow.

Delilah sends Annabelle the Cupid to coax the local Ice Queen from her Summer Palace to bring an early winter to Vasherton. Meanwhile, David is captured and thrown into prison for collaborating with the Monster menace. Luckily, Delilah has sent him some help, and John Vasher Jr doesn’t share his father’s ideals.

Cold to the touch


The snow-covered plains would’ve eaten his feet, had Aaron not been wearing a pair of snowshoes. Dark clouds loomed overhead, signalling a furious blizzard to come at any second, perhaps with a cold that could challenge what mountain of a man his clothes and equipment made him. Ahead, mountains etched a line over the horizon, mountains he walked towards, but nothing else that’d amount to life existed elsewhere; what little plantlife existed amounted to merely dead trees, and so much snow covered the ground that if he were to prod it with a stick, he’d sooner run out of length.
