How To Get Your Stuff Hosted

Congratulations on joining this site.

Now you ask yourself, what can I do after registering? Well, you can use the Shoutbox and you can leave comments on everything. That’s not much at the moment.

But how to submit stories or artwork?

Open the Contact Us page, send me a written request and check the “Apply to be an Author” box. It would be nice if you can include a link to existing works. Once I can check that out, I will elevate your status to Author, which will allow for free unlimited hosting of artwork and stories.

If you want to host artwork primarily, I will set you up with your own Gallery page.

Right now we can offer absolutely free hosting. The site is hosted securely with an independent provider, we don’t submit to blogs or anything else and currently the site is completely free of advertising.

Now you’re an Author and don’t know what to do.

On the upper part of the site you will have access to a Menu Bar. There you can select to submit new content or access the “Dashboard” to edit all your existing stuff.

Every Author has only access to his/her own content, so your stories and your pictures are safe from meddling.

If you want to post news to the frontpage for the community or for promoting your content, you can use “New Post”.

If you want to submit a story, you will use “New Stories”.

If you are uploading Art, go over the Dashboard and select “FooGallery -> Galleries” and you will be shown the gallery that I will setup after you apply for hosting. Click on the existing Gallery and upload and manage pictures how you like. You can also rearrange pictures by dragging and dropping. If you want to add images to a post, you can simply use “New Post” and there will be a button “Add Media” inside, where you can freely upload and use images.

If you have any problems getting started, use the Feedback to send me a request for assistance and I will try to reach you via IRC, Skype or even Steam if necessary. I will also be able to help you mirror and upload existing stuff from Imgur or Pastebin to get you set up.

Leave some comments here if you have further questions.

Enjoy your stay!

  1. Is there something wrong with the contact form? I tried requesting author access, but when I hit submit it asked me “Are you sure you want to do this” without a Yes/No prompt like I’d expect.

    1. Interestingly enough this is the first time I heard of this. It should work regardless of being logged in. The only thing that could happen is that you are using an IP address that has been used by spammers before or that you are using some kind of security plugin for your browser maybe?

In any case, hop onto the IRC chat to get in direct contact with me (when I am awake), which would speed up author access tremendously as well.

    1. I assume that if you apply for Author rights here that you are already a writer. Therefore you should have something written and at least in publishable state I can review.
